Fenix PD12 EDC Flashlight

DSCF0903 (640x480)The pocket flashlight that provides the power of some ”D” cell flashlights.   That power is equal to 360 lumens with one CR123A battery.  This little guy is only small in stature but gives the user one heck of a dependable flashlight.  This is absolutely the Tyrion Lannister of EDC flashlights.

The body of this EDC torch is crafted out of aircraft grade aluminum and features anti-roll technology that insures it stays pointed where you need it.  The shaft has a texture to allows for easy grip that is just slightly larger than the CR123A battery that powers it.   The power button is located on the side and also functions as a selection switch to adjust the brightness.  When pressed and held it gives the user a burst of 360 lumens.  There are 3 other lumen settings that increase in intensity from 10 to 80 to 200 lumens by pressing the side switch.  The runtimes vary depending on the setting from 60 hours to 2.5 hours.

The Fenix PD12 is both shock resistant (1m)  and “Waterproof” up to 2 meters.  The lens is a hardened ultra-clear lens that has been coated in anti-reflecting materials.

The PD12 features a Cree XM-L2 (T6) neutral white LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours with a digitally regulated output which maintains constant brightness.

When I first started looking into EDC flashlights I was convinced that it wasn’t something that I would carry on a daily basis.  At some point you just run out of room in your pockets but the PD12 negates that as an excuse.  This is a flashlight that provides convenience without sacrificing reliable or functionality.

Fenix PD12 is a must have for anyone in the EDC community or for anyone looking for a high quality, dependable flashlight.
